PROCESS

1. We’ll start with a conversation. Your bike is all about you. I am here to listen to you and help you along the path of building your bike.

2. Complete the build sheet covering every aspect of your frame/bike. Considerations such as riding plans, physical limitations and body measurements will be requested.

3. After the initial deposit is received, a CAD drawing of your bike is completed so we can make any changes to the bike before fabrication and ordering begins.

4. Once the final design is approved, the build kit and frame components are ordered and a full scale drawing of your bike is created.

5. As your custom frame is built, you will receive pictures and updates.

6. After the frame is completed it is sent out for paint (if needed) and then the bike is assembled for delivery.

7. The excitement of New Bike Day occurs in two ways: shipping to you or better yet, you can come and pick it up and we can go for a ride!

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I spent my teens exploring the country roads of western Wisconsin on a Schwinn Prologue, a classic lugged steel frame. This was the era of downtube shifters, side pull brakes, straight block 5 speed freewheels. Bike computers weren’t even a thing. The beauty of the ride and how it made me feel is what kept me coming back day after day to ride for hours.

I rode so much I had to learn how to fix my own bike which eventually led to my first job at a bike shop. Admittedly, this was to get parts cheap. I gained a deep love of bicycles and working with others with the same passion.

Over the years I worked in many different shops, but my favorite was Anybody’s Bike Shop in Eau Claire, WI. The cast of characters there have become lifelong friends and customers of Anybody’s Bike Works. We sold and serviced bikes by day, rode until the sun went down and came back the next day to do it all over again. Every bike was special because it was someone’s pride and joy, their mode of transportation, their race machine, or something they just liked to look at hanging on the wall. What all of those interactions with people and their bicycles reinforced for me was every bike is personal, and every bike is worth fixing.

After 20 years in the bike industry to pursue a career in pipefitting. This was a perfect match for my bicycle building interest because I learned how to weld, braze, and most importantly, how to fit pipes together. Both require a deep understanding of geometry and experience in precision fitments, offering infinitely adjustable parameters. All of this experience means you will have the highest quality personalized bicycle.

The most noble invention ever conceived by man is the bicycle. I can’t wait to start building your custom bicycle today.
